Rebecca Rienzi, Executive Director
Rebecca has over 25 years experience in the nonprofit sector. She joined Pathfinders for Autism in 2007 and has served as Executive Director since 2010. Prior to joining Pathfinders for Autism, Rebecca’s professional experience focused around environmental and social justice issues in Maryland and Baltimore City. Her strengths include community organizing, program development and implementation, volunteer management, partnership building, fundraising and organization management. Rebecca was instrumental in advocating for the coverage of autism treatment services by health insurance plans sold in Maryland resulting in the passage of legislation in 2012. She is an appointed member of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Autism Workgroup and sits on many committees where she advocates for individuals with autism and their families. Rebecca was born and raised in Baltimore. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County and currently lives in Baltimore County with her husband and two daughters.
Trish Kane, Director of Programs
Trish Kane joined Pathfinders for Autism in September of 2010. She oversees the Resource Center and is directly responsible for coordinating the training programs and fun events. Trish identifies partners, topics and speakers for the PFA annual training series throughout Maryland and organizes family fun events to bring enjoyment and social opportunities for families. Since March, 1995, she has advocated for her son with ASD and offers an understanding of supports and accommodations that work while facing the challenges of going out to eat, visiting the dentist, etc. Trish served on the Board of Directors for The Abilities Network, a local Maryland community and vocational support organization from 2010-2015.
Neal Lichter, Resource Center Coordinator
Neal Lichter joined Pathfinders October 2013 after 9 years as the owner/operator of Accessible Rental Vans, a wheelchair accessible van rental company. Neal is responsible for the daily intake of questions and concerns from parents, caregivers, educators, professionals and individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Neal provides support and resources through research, field work and personal experience. Born and raised in Baltimore, he is a graduate of Towson University where he majored in Communication Studies. Neal is married, with two sons, one of which has Autism. He brings his professional expertise with over 15 years of customer service experience, as well as his personal experiences as a dad in dealing with Autism to Pathfinders.
Shelly Allred, Director of Safety Programs
Shelly has conducted Autism Trainings for various organizations including the Maryland State Police, Maryland Capitol Police, multiple County Police/Sheriff's Departments, EMS staff, corrections officers, colleges, Exceptional Family Programs, State's Attorneys, adult medical day programs, restaurants, schools, hotels, libraries, foster care programs, and other professional organizations. Shelly is a certified police instructor by the Maryland Police and Corrections Training Commission, CIT certified through Montgomery County Police, and certified in Mental Health First Aid through Harford County Sheriff's Office. She has also written several Parent Tips articles that have appeared in other publications, such as Chicago Special Parent Magazine and Autism Parenting Magazine.
Jenn Hobbs, Development Associate
Jenn Hobbs was born and raised in the Baltimore area, and is a graduate of Washington College, where she studied English and Political Science. With a project management background and a heart for volunteerism, Jenn found the nonprofit world to be a perfect fit. As Pathfinders for Autism's sole Development Associate, she coordinates and oversees donor cultivation and communications, giving campaigns, grant applications, special events, corporate partnerships, volunteers, and associated social media. She manages our signature events, including our annual Run Wild for Autism 5K, Golf Tournament & Awards Ceremony, and Evening of Celebrity Fashion and Fun. Jenn enjoys traveling, is a self-proclaimed foodie, and loves having a job where she gets to make a difference.
Kim Dennis, Administrative Assistant
Kim Dennis has over 28 years of administrative office experience, the last three of which include starting and operating her own business. She was raised in foster care in the Baltimore County region, giving her the foundation to help children overcome challenges. She is the mom of two children, including a daughter who has ASD and other special needs. Kim has spent the past 13 years navigating medical processes and finding and advocating for services to promote the well being of her daughter. Kim joined Pathfinders for Autism part-time in July 2014 to support her goal to work at a non-profit and help other parents living in the ASD world.
Emily Metelski is a graduate of Towson University, where she majored in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Emily brings her knowledge of the communication difficulties associated with autism, as well as experience providing excellent customer service while working for small businesses. She draws inspiration from her interests in event planning and graphic design. Emily likes to hike, read, and support local music and art in Baltimore.
Quinn Lulie, Data Management Specialist
Quinn joined Pathfinders for Autism as a Data Management Specialist effective April 2014. His attention to detail, accuracy, and speed in performing his job makes Quinn an essential part of the Pathfinders for Autism team. He began his relationship with Pathfinders for Autism in February of 2013 as an intern through the Forbush High School vocation training program. Upon graduation, Quinn continued his internship with us through his service provider, Itineris. Quinn lives in Ellicott City, MD. He enjoys reading the morning paper, word scrambles, and watching his favorite TV shows.
