Guidance for Parents of Children with Special Needs: Is a Residential School Right for Your Child? Families of children with special needs are faced with unique decisions regarding their education and care. Two special information and question/answer sessions will be held at the Ivymount School in Rockville for parents by an expert on residential special education to help with these critical decisions. This event has been specially designed in cooperation with the Benedictine School in Ridgely, MD. Please join Julie Hickey, Education Director of the Benedictine School, for a discussion of how to determine if a residential placement is best and what to look for in a residential school. Julie will be joined by Shirley Blackston, Benedictine's residential coordinator, and parents of residential students to share their insights and observations.
