Pathfinders for Autism and Confident Student are partnering to offer a seminar series on topics of interest to the autism community. The series will run October 2009 - April 2010 at the Pathfinders for Autism Resource Center in Hunt Valley. Seminars are Thursdays from 12:30 - 2:00 PM and will include the following topics and presenters:

Tuesday, July 13 from 6:30 - 8:00PM Asperger's Syndrome and Anxiety

Dr. Mary Gallagher, Willowbrook Psychotherapy Services
Robin Winternitz, Parent Advocate

Oftentimes, effective management of Aspergers Syndrome includes the understanding and management of anxiety. Dr. Gallagher will examine anxiety symptoms for those with Aspergers, and how it can increase academic/social/behavioral challenges. Robin Winternitz will explore how to address anxiety on the IEP/504.
